HEAT PUMP CONVERSIONS

The first step in the conversion process is a thorough evaluation of your current HVAC system, home layout, and energy usage. Our team will visit your home to assess your existing heating and cooling setup, including the age and condition of your furnace, air conditioner, and ductwork. We'll also discuss your home’s heating and cooling needs, the number of rooms, insulation quality, and any specific comfort requirements.

During this stage, we’ll take detailed measurements and gather important information to determine the ideal heat pump system for your space. We'll also explain the benefits of switching to a heat pump and help you understand the potential energy savings, comfort improvements, and environmental benefits.

Once we've completed the assessment, we’ll design a heat pump system tailored to your home’s needs. We’ll recommend the best type of heat pump—whether it's a ducted air-source system, a ductless mini-split, or a geothermal heat pump—based on factors like your home’s size, layout, geographical location and energy efficiency goals. Our design will include the appropriate heating and cooling capacity for each area of your home to ensure optimal performance and comfort.

If needed, we may also suggest upgrades to your home’s insulation or air sealing to enhance the efficiency of the new system. Proper sealing and insulation can help your heat pump work even more effectively, keeping conditioned air inside and preventing energy waste.

Before installing the new heat pump, your existing heating and/or cooling system will need to be removed, whether an outdated furnace or inefficient air conditioner. This step includes ensuring that old equipment is safely disconnected and disposed of, and your space is properly prepared for the new system.

If your existing ductwork is in good condition and appropriately sized  for the new heat pump, we may be able to reuse it, saving you time and money. If your ductwork needs repairs or upgrades, we will handle those adjustments as part of the installation process.

Next, we install your new heat pump system. This involves placing both the indoor air handler (for heating and cooling distribution) and the outdoor unit (which transfers heat from the outside air into the home during the winter and expels heat during the summer) in the optimal locations.

For ducted systems, we’ll connect the heat pump to your existing ductwork, ensuring proper airflow and sealing any leaks to maximize energy efficiency. For ductless systems, we'll install the indoor units in each room or zone you wish to heat or cool, providing customized temperature control throughout your home.

The installation process is designed to be as smooth and efficient as possible. Our experienced technicians work quickly while ensuring every component is installed to manufacturer specifications and local building codes.

Once your new heat pump is installed, we perform extensive testing to ensure everything is operating correctly. This includes checking the airflow, refrigerant levels, and system controls. We'll calibrate the system for optimal performance, making sure the heating and cooling capacity is properly matched to your home's needs.

We also verify that your system is properly communicating with your thermostat, zoning controls (if applicable), and any other smart home devices you may have. This ensures your new heat pump is as user-friendly and efficient as possible.
